Applying a differential transformer for the detector unit, transducers in the DLT-AS and DLT-BS series measure inductance-based displacement by converting mechanical displacement to a corresponding electrical quantity in voltage. Since a mating amplifier should operate on an excitation voltage with a 5kHz carrier, these transducers should be used in combination with a carrier-type dynamic strain amplifier in the KYOWA DPM series.
They can be effectively used to measure changes in length, unevenness, expansion/contraction or thickness. The DLT-BS series are waterproof (dripproof in conformity to JIS C 0920) and suitable for field measurement.
Features:
- Fewer friction parts and small measuring force
- Excellent linearity and high resolution
- Complete magnetic shield makes them highly immune to external electrical influence.
- Stable against temperature changes
- Core and mainframe are not contacted with each other, thereby ensuring excellent durability.
- Waterproof type available (DLT-BS)
Precautions:
Inductance-based displacement transducers in the DLT-AS and DLT-BS series are used in combination with a carrier-type dynamic strain amplifier. (Amplifiers operating on direct-current bridge power cannot be used.) Also, since calibration is made with a bridge power at 5kHz, amplifiers having a bridge power other than 5kHz cannot be used without modification. To correctly use an amplifier with a bridge voltage other than 5kHz, calibration is required for combination of the transducer and amplifier. As KYOWA accepts combination calibration, contact a KYOWA representative for the charge.
