ServoSled(TM) System

Seattle Safety (SESA) manufactures large payload sled systems for dynamic testing of automotive and aerospace seating and restraint systems (crash dummy testing).

SESA offers both decelerator and acceleration sled systems capability.

SESA deceleration sled system uses a pneumatically propelled sled and a programmable decelerator that can reproduce a wide variety of crash pulses with excellent predictive accuracy.

SESA also offers integrated facility packages, including: Sled System, Floodlighting, High Speed Photometrics and Triggering.


Servo Brake

The ServoSled catapult sled system uses a hydraulically actuated friction brake acting directly against the sled. The "servo-brake" controls the net force and energy applied to the sled by absorbing excess energy produced by a pneumatic actuator. Hydraulic pressure control is by high speed computer-controlled servo-valves. The pneumatic actuator uses high pressure air to power the driving piston and a low pressure air cushion to stop the piston and ram after the test pulse. The pneumatic actuator does not include any restrictive flow controls.

  • Maximum Payload: 4000 kg / 8800 lb

  • Simple – Industrial hydraulic hardware and durable mechanical components minimize maintenance and simplify servicing.
